The core liners we accept for exchange or purchase to resell after reboring must be in excellent condition. Please examine your liners carefully before shipping.  Liners with these typical problems are not acceptable.

1) Cracks in any area

2) Dents or erosion in head gasket seal surface.

3) Gouges to interior surface that will not disappear with 1mm over bore.

4) Any damage to bottom of spigot from being driven out of the block.

5) Major corrosion above the spigot where the liner seats/seals on the block.

6) Compression grooves machined into the head gasket mating surface.

7) Shortened height to accommodate milling of the block. 
Height measured above the spigot: 1300 =3.510"; 1600 = 3.754"; 1750/2000 = 4.225". 
(This was common practice to raise compression on some early SV/SS/GTA 1300 and 1600 engines.)

   Common problems ...

8) 1750 liners of the early thin wall variety (1968-70) are only suitable for 81mm 1824cc engines. These have identical flats milled top and bottom on both sides. For boring to 82mm we require the thicker wall late model version. These are different, with one vertical side milled flat from top to bottom.

9) 2000 liners must be 84mm and 1750 80mm.

10) 1600 and 1300 liners are acceptable with up to 1mm overbore (79 and 75mm)  

Liners are inspected on arrival. If you are in doubt about the condition/appearance of your liners being acceptable, you are welcome to send for our inspection but with no obligation on our part to buy or pay return shipping.

WARNING! Liners should be individually wrapped in cardboard or foam, making sure spigot end is extremely well protected.   They must be packed in a very good grade cardboard box, separated by packing extra material and surrounded by extra layer of cardboard inside box. They should not rattle around inside box.  We frequently receive shipments with box broken open on one corner and sometimes a liner missing.  With especially rough treatment, a liner spigot sometimes gets chipped if they are not packaged securely.
